Info
This project is an animated infographics film that explores the life and cultural impact of Martha Cooper, one of the most influential photographers in the global graffiti and street art scene. The film highlights her journey, her passion for documenting urban expression, and the pivotal role she played in bringing graffiti culture into the international spotlight.Visually, the goal was to create a design language that reflects the vibrancy and energy of the graffiti world. We developed a colorful, expressive visual style inspired by Cooper’s own photographic work and the raw aesthetics of street art. Bold shapes, dynamic compositions, and graffiti-driven typography helped capture the creative pulse of the subculture she documented.Because the story needed to be told concisely yet clearly, the animation focuses on essential milestones of her life — her early fascination with photography, her time in New York during the rise of graffiti, and her lasting influence on artists around the world. Despite the compact format, the design maintains a strong emotional connection to her artistic legacy. To enhance the narrative experience, we used AI-generated voice-over storytelling, giving the film a smooth, engaging narrator who guides viewers through Cooper’s biography with clarity and personality. This combination of expressive visuals and immersive narration creates a film that is both informative and artistically aligned with Martha Cooper’s world. The final piece aims not only to tell her story but to celebrate her contribution to urban culture — capturing the spirit of movement, rebellion, and creativity that defines graffiti.
